Wednesday, August 16th at 8:30pm the popular Estonian band, Trad.Attack!, will be performing at Hugh's Room (2261 Dundas St. West) in Toronto. The band is on tour with their new album "Shimmer Gold," which was released in May 2017.

Monday, August 14th at 7pm Maarja Hollo (Estonian Literary Museum) will be giving a lecture on the topic of Trauma, Memory, and Confession in Bernard Kangro's Poetry.

Tuesday, June 13th at 8pm at Toronto's Nathan Phllips Square, a candle lighting ceremony will be taking place to commemorate the Baltic June 1941 deportations.
This year marks the 21st year of the Annex Family Festival. The Festival that takes place along Bloor St. between Bathurst and Spadina, is organized by the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre and the Bloor Annex Business Improvement Area. The event features a diverse cultural program that is suitable for the whole family, while also providing opportunities to shop and have a bite to eat.
The VEMU, MÜ (Forest University), and EstDocs information table will be introducing Estonia, Canadian-Estonians, and their various ventures to Torontonians. During the Festival from 10am-6pm, Tartu College will be open to those who wish to view the "Metsaülikool 50" exhibit. In addition, short films including a chronicle of how Tartu College was built, Kaja and Tiit Telmet's wedding at MÜ in 1974, and short documentaries from the EstDocs film competition will be screened.

Wednesday, June 7th from 5-7pm in the hall of Tartu College, the Estonian Sudies Centre/VEMU and the Estonian Central Council in Canada will be hosting a reception in honour of the Republic of Estonia's Minister of Culture Indrek Saar to which all Toronto Estonians are invited.
Minister Indrek Saar will be on a business trip to Ottawa and Toronto in June. He will be accompanied by the Republic of Estonia's Ambassador in Canada Gita Kalmet, the Vice-Chancellor of Diversity Piret Hartman and the Minister's Advisor Maris Sild.
