Meeting with Maarja Lõhmus

We will discuss the cooperation between local Estonians and Estonians abroad in the fields of journalism and cultural media.

This year’s Metsaülikool guest lecturer, journalist and Tartu University lecturer, Maarja Lõhmus, will introduce present day Estonia’s public journalism to Canadian Estonians, who are involved with organizing cultural and media events. Questions such as how to get Canadian Estonian news into the Estonian media; which publications and media channels one should send news to; what kind of format to use; how to package news, interviews, comments, etc., will be addressed.

Toronto Estonians are active and we have a busy cultural schedule. The Estonian Republic’s 100th Independence Day celebrations and ESTO events drawn nearer. The success and continuation of our activities depends on well-developed media communication. Maarja Lõhmus, as an experienced media specialist, can provide us with a lot of useful information on these topics.
