International Conference: “Repressions & Human Rights. Commemorating the March 1949 Soviet Deportations in the Baltic States”

On Friday, March 27th 5 pm at Isabel Bader Theatre (93 Charles St. W., Toronto) international conference “Repressions and Human Rights. Commemorating the March 1949 Soviet Deportations in the Baltic States”.

A conference examining the March 1949 deportation carried out by Soviet authorities in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and its legacy today. Current geopolitical issues and the movement away from the human rights and freedom in Russia will also be discussed.

Guest speakers: Sofi Oksanen (keynote speech), Bill Browder, Göran Lindblad, Ludwik Klimkowsky, Jüri Kivimäe and Karl Altau.
