EMW live-stream concert and mini-lecture with Honeypaw (FIN)
VEMU/Estonian Music Week together with the Finnish Studies Programme at UofT will host a live-stream concert and a mini-lecture with Honeypaw (FIN) on Finnish, Estonian and Lithuanian folklore and traditions. Lecture will be done by the Professor of Finnish Studies at University of Toronto, Anu Muhonen, and Piret Noorhani, Chief Archivist of VEMU, followed by a concert by Honeypaw – a duo consisting of Jurgita Žvinklytė and Matti Palonen.
Honeypaw’s music is a mix of the ancestral traditions mixed with the urban landscapes of Toronto, performed with a Baltic psaltery, known as kantele in Finland, kannel in Estonia, Kokle in Latvia, and kanklės in Lithuania.
Join this interesting event on Friday, December 4 at 7pm at Estonian Music Weeks Facebook page.
