Andy Valvur, USA via Germany
Andy Valvur was born in New York to Estonian parents, grew up in Japan, went to boarding school in Switzerland and university in California and therefore stand-up comedy was the only logical career path. He started performing in San Francisco at clubs like Cobbs, The Other Cafe and the legendary Holy City Zoo. From there he moved to Los Angeles where he worked at the Comedy Store and on to New York where he was a regular at the IMPROV and Catch a Rising Star. He has written for the New York Times, Cosmopolitan, the San Francisco Chronicle, Good Housekeeping, Maxim and is a regular contributor to The Huffington Post. He has toured all around Estonia and in the summer of 2013 the Estonian Defense Ministry flew him and two other comedians to perform for Estonian troops in Afghanistan. More recently he performed at the Brussels Comedy Festival, the Cologne Comedy Festival and is one half of the animated international political satire series World in Colour. He currently divides his time between San Francisco and Germany. Finally, he finds it very strange to refer to himself in the third person.
Take a peek. You can find one of his routines here.
