Kristjan Vassil’s lecture “The Diffusion of Internet Voting”
On Monday, November 24th, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Kristjan Vassil is going to give a lecture on the topic The Diffusion of Internet Voting. The lecture is held: 108N, North House, Munk School of Global Affairs, 1 Devonshire Place, Toronto.
Kristjan Vassil (PhD) is a research fellow at the Institute of Government and Politics, University of Tartu. He defended his doctoral degree in the European University Institute in January 2012 and his thesis focused on the effect of information and communication technologies on voting behavior. In 2014 Kristjan completed his Marie Curie postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Tartu. Kristjan Vassil is one of the leading investigators in e-voting studies conducted in Estonia since 2005. He has researched and published on the impact of ICT-solutions on voting behavior and individual attitudes using a variety of statistical techniques. More specifically, his work has focuses on internet voting, voting advice applications (VAA) and online political participation. He has conducted several large-N surveys and field experiments in Estonia and Italy. Kristjan Vassil is a member of the Mid-West Political Science Association, American Political Science Association and the European Consortium for Political Research. He currently holds several research grants enabling ongoing empirical research on likely effects of ICTs on political behavior.
