Vello Soots memorial lecture by Vello Salo and the opening of the exhibit „Harsh Spring“

The second Dr. Vello Soots memorial lecture will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 in the main hall of Tartu College, commencing at 3:00 p.m. Dr. Vello Salo’s topic will be “The Legacy of Evil Times: Population Losses in Estonia 1939 – 1949”.

The lecture will be followed by the opening of the traveling exhibition “Harsh Spring”, which is dedicated to those deported in March, 1949. Peeter Kenkmann and Tiit Noormets compiled the exhibition at the Estonian State Archives in 2009. Introductory remarks by Dr. Aigi Rahi-Tamm.

No admission fee. A small donation to VEMU would be appreciated.

The event will be held in Estonian.
